numerous serious felony and homicide cases.

Director Kevin Epps Speaks to the Need for Accessible Expression for All San Francisco Residents

San Francisco Bay Area filmmaker, Kevin Epps

burst onto the film scene in 2003 with his eye-opening

documentary "Straight Outta Hunters Point".  The film

depicted the gritty realities of neighborhoods where

most San Franciscans never tread.

However, his career is far more than just that

one act.  Since his initial debut, Mr. Epps has continued

to contribute to the artistic and cultural underpinnings

of San Francisco.  There are few residents who are

more equipped to speak on the necessity to incorporate

diversity into the City's arts and entertainment than is

Mr. Epps.  Our discussion focused on the need to allow

all residents to express themselves through media and

art, and efforts to ensure budget cuts and the need

for big profits do not hamper this goal.

vitality of our City.

Tomiquia Moss is working on the CJC's goal to

provide solutions for individuals that have high social

services needs, which are not satisfied by the criminal

justice system. The Court tries to give appropriate
